Music Diary – 9th July

Welcome again to my never ending Music Diary!

Today, on the 9th July 2010, it was the first time that I cross the Austrian border to Slovakia. One day after an awesome Woven Hand show in Vienna we headed to the Pohoda Festival in Trencin. Holy cow – the weather was unbelievable hot and the band was scheduled for 2 p.m.! Very ridiculous – but anyway: Woven Hand performed very tight, heavy, loud and intense.

Music Diary – 3rd July

Welcome again to another entry in my music diary!

Today, on the 3rd July 2012, Wovenhand performed louder and harder as ever. David Eugene Edwards has also changed the line up when he introduced us his brandnew songs from the upcoming release „The Laughing Stalk“ in Vienna that night. The performance was like the weather outside – a thunderstorm!

See videos, pictures, reviews and the setlist of this breathtaking performance here (scroll down to 03/07):

Music Diary – 20th June

Dear Musicfans!

Today, on the 20th June, I didn’t attend any concert, but I bought myself one of my all time favorite albums as it happened on the 20th June 2006:

Mosaic“ by Woven Hand (or Wovenhand – it’s up to you as DEE told me in an interview) was released and as a huge fan of David Eugene Edwards (and 16 Horsepower of course!) I was very looking forward to this one.

It features beautiful and intense songs like „Winter Shaker„, „Swedish Purse„, „Dirty Blue“ or „Deerskin Doll“ which developed over the years to the highlights of any Wovenhand show.

Cheers,

Alex Melomane

Music Diary – 13th June

Welcome to my personal music diary, dear musiclovers all around the world!

On this day I attended two shows of my all time favorite bands:
In 2007 I was still a huge fan of the legendary Jethro Tull and so I attended their show in Munich at the wonderful Circus Krone. Nowadays I’m tired of Ian Anderson’s „Greatest Hits“ tours and since Martin Lancelot Barre left the band I’m not really interested in this band which created such wonderful albums like „Aqualung“, „Thick As A Brick“, „Songs From The Wood“ or „Heavy Horses“. So it goes, nobody knows …

In 2011, and one day after the show in Nuremberg, the one and only Slim Cessna’s Auto Club played a free show in Munich at the Theatron. It was funny to see how the crowd reacted to their intense performance. But they really loved it – the merchandising was sold out after the show 😉

Videos, pictures and setlists of these two performances can be found here (scroll down to 13/06):

Music Diary – 12th June

Hey People!

On this day I attended three outstanding shows:

In 2007 I enjoyed Pearl Jam in Munich (Olympiahalle), in 2009 I headbanged to AC/DC in Paris (Stade de France) and in 2011 I witnessed Slim Cessna’s Auto Club shredding the Desi in Nuremberg.
